Most of us are familiar with this ultimate killer from the movies Scream. I think it was the second movie which I saw first and I loved the costume from Ghostface. It looks very simple, however it is not. Each movie it changed a little bit, although Scream 2, 3 and 4 have more or less the same concept.
When I was about 15 I made first Ghostface costume, as seen in the first picture (I took a picture from the photo, hence the bad quality). I watched Scream 2 over and over and paused, went frame by frame to get a good understanding of the fabric and the shape. Eventually sparkling fabric (Yes the costume sparkles, just watch any of the movies again and you'll see.) was too pricey so I got a plain black.
When Scream 4 was announced in 2010, I wanted to create a more accurate costume, however before finding the right fabric, which is not easy, I made a test robe. When I was happy with that, the search for the holy grail started. It took me a lot searching online and in stores, ordering dozens of samples and eventually in 2013 I saw a nice looking fabric online. Problem being, a sample would cost me about 30 Pounds, so I just got the fabric as it was not much more than that. When it arrived, I was quite happy with it. Woven, silver lurex, nice drape. Yes I think I finally found it!
So from my original test robe to the eventual robe I made a few changes, as I found more pictures online and had a better look at details. I am very pleased with it, sad thing is, the fabric is discontinued so I can't make more than one.
